Kenai Peninsula Chapter

Many Kenai Peninsula trails were carved on horseback and the knowledge of some of them is leaving this earth with those who made them. Other trails are degrading with a lack of maintenance. That's why a core group of individuals started up the Kenai Peninsula Chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of America. The crowning jewel of our chapter is our unique and growing relationships with the Kenai Peninsula Borough and the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Together, we really are making a difference. Another part of our job is in advocacy for the use of equines on these trails historically made by hooves. That doesn't seem like it should be an issue, however, equines are slowly being edged out by other user groups. That's where this bridge-building is so important.

Pleasure riders, trail crew, advocates, stewards of this great land, we're a group of many hats! Want to join the fun? Become a member!
