Mat-Su Chapter

We are based in the Matanuska-Sustina Valley, with members from Healy to Anchorage and Glacierview. We were the first chapter in the state, established in 2012. We currently partner with the borough to help maintain four trails:

  • Picnic Table Single Track on Mat-Su Greenbelt
  • Carle Wagon Road Trail starting from Government Peak Recreation Area
  • Jim Creek Equestrian Trail
  • Morgan Horse Trail

We also partner with the Mat-Su Copper River 4-H Horse Council to provide educational rides each summer ("Trail Trials"), and have monthly meetings in the winter.

Membership

We have annual membership available for individuals, family, or youth.

Membership benefits include:

  • Invitation to member-only events and rides like the Trail Trials
  • Right to vote at meetings
  • National membership
  • National membership benefits including discounted Equisure personal liability insurance
  • Networking and learning from other members

Annual membership is $20 for youth, $40 for individual and $50 for family. Renewal is Jan 1 each year.
