- Vice President: Chandra Wilson
- Secretary: Colleen Fisk
- Treasurer: Francine Long
- Directors: Linda Simms, Lori Benner, and Frank Sihler
Thank you to our election committee and all those who have agreed to serve as officers or directors for Mat-Su BCHA! A very special thanks to Kathy for having led us these last several years.

Our annual holiday party will again include delicious food and a silent auction. Bring a side dish or dessert to share. This is our most-attended event of the year, and we hope you can join us – as always, feel free to bring any family or friends! The Kelsch’s are once again hosting at their house on 2480 N Hope Circle. There will be a short business meeting to review the letter to the borough about the Crevasse Morraine trail system and vote in new officers. A Parks, Rec, and Trails meeting is the next day so we want to have comments prepared. We will still have lots of fun, and hope to see many of you there!

The pack clinic went very well at Saddle Up Arena – we had 19 participants from all around the state, most of them who weren’t members of BCHA before. Thank you so much to all the BCHA members who participated and helped out on that day.
We are doing a follow up ride on Saturday, May 4th for those who participated in the clinic to practice packing on their own (or friends’) horses. We would also like to invite other BCHA members to come for a potluck brunch and meeting starting at 10am followed by a trail ride. We will start at Saddle Up Arena (mile 10 Old Glenn Highway) and be able to ride down to Knik River from there.

Members learned a variety of packing techniques at the clinic on March 29th and 30th. Photo by Kathleen Kavalok. -
Mat-Su BCHA is partnering with Fish & Game to put on a 2-day packing clinic March 29th and 30th. There will also be follow up practice days throughout the summer. The cost is $75 for members or $100 for non-members. Contact Kathy for more information and to reserve your spot!
